Mathematics
Algebraic thinking, functions, graphical interpretation, geometry and structured problem solving. The emphasis is on explaining each step and recognising the type of question in front of you.
IGCSE · YEAR 10–12 LEARNERS
Clear explanations, carefully chosen practice and feedback that tells you what to work on next. Personal online tutoring across supported IGCSE subjects, shaped around the student's course and current needs.
THE LEARNING APPROACH
IGCSE learners can be studying very different combinations of subjects, assessment routes and timelines. I start by understanding which specification the school uses, where the student feels secure, and where marks are being lost. A useful plan begins with that context—not a generic revision timetable.
Sessions can support ongoing classroom learning, a difficult chapter, or an approaching assessment. We work through the reasoning behind an answer and practise how to express it under examination conditions. Specific exam boards, subject components and tiers are confirmed during consultation rather than assumed.
WHAT WE CAN WORK ON
Topic selection follows the learner's actual course, level and starting point.
Algebraic thinking, functions, graphical interpretation, geometry and structured problem solving. The emphasis is on explaining each step and recognising the type of question in front of you.
First Language and Second Language needs are approached differently. Reading for meaning, selecting evidence, writing with control and planning for an assessment are adapted to the student's actual route.
Move from remembering a definition to applying it. We can work with calculations, scientific explanations, diagrams, practical-method questions and common sources of misunderstanding.
Support for relevant IGCSE ICT theory and practical preparation, including digital systems, careful use of applications and computing ideas. Confirm the course's specific components before planning lessons.
HOW A SESSION WORKS
Sessions can be private, paired or small-group when the learners are suitably matched. Frequency and programme length are agreed personally; financial quotations remain private.
A short conversation identifies the curriculum, current topics, assessment requirements and two or three specific priorities.
We break down a representative problem, reconstruct the reasoning, then try a comparable task independently with feedback.
I identify the mistakes worth revisiting and suggest focused work between lessons; the plan changes when the evidence does.
QUESTIONS FAMILIES ASK
Tell me the board, syllabus code if known, subject, paper or component and examination date. I'll confirm whether I can support the exact route before suggesting sessions.
No. Some learners want consistent help alongside school; others need a targeted revision period. Standard, Silver and Gold are discussed according to actual goals and scheduling.
Paired and small-group lessons are possible when curriculum, level, pace and availability are compatible. Each learner still needs individual feedback.
START WITH A CONVERSATION
Share the subject, year or university module, curriculum and one goal. For a school-age learner, a parent or guardian should make contact. I'll help you understand the next step and provide a personal quote when the fit is clear.
